Unfortunately, I don’t feel exactly the same level of excitement as others do and have felt this way for weeks. I just hope this will now lift some of the often toxic atmosphere on show so often at times.

Given that before Lamps arrived, Zola was arguably our greatest ever player and his departure yesterday has gone under the radar so much that I doubt many know he’s gone, or even care, is that a cautionary tale for Frank as to how quickly playing greatness is forgotten if you’re not a top coach too? Bearing in mind Franco’s first season in management at West Ham was as decent as FL’s one & only at Derby so far, and the problems he’s inherited which many other Chelsea managers haven’t had to endure and yet still not been able to succeed despite track records of success elsewhere, the odds are stacked against him.

I really, really hope things go well, for both him and the fans; if this particular spell doesn’t, then it’ll hurt even more than usual.
