I would much rather watch that and lose 3-0 than what we saw against City. Very disappointing result but there was hope at times. Mistakes hurt but seeing that performance made me a lot more proud than a rollover.

Of course, my comment earlier wasn’t serious, the performance was god, but this season we have suffered a lot because we create little and score less in front of goal.

This was not aimed at your comment. I just disagreed with our outlook on City. Had we taken this approach against City who knows. I’m more proud of this than the City game.

We didn't have Kante against city.. he's only a single player but his influence is incredible

[^] losing Kante so late at City no doubt hampered things majorly.

Not to mention, losing three or four more goals at City would have had an impact on our goal difference. League football always has to be viewed differently to Cup football in that respect

We didn’t have him last season and won there.

Is that a genuine argument? We significantly weakened our starting 11 and they significantly strengthened... the two teams that played each other this season are worlds apart from the two that played when we won at city... and whilst that was a great result we were under the cosh for much of that game.. if they hadn't missed an open net to make it 2-0 it would've been a different story.

Just pointing out that we missed him last year and won, so not an excuse in itself.

Would he have improved our chances? Definitely, but so would a different approach from the gaffer.

I get what you mean but a loss is a loss, there’s no good defeat IMHO.
It makes it worse that we handed them all four goals on a plate during the tie. It’d be less frustrating for me to have played not so well as we did at times and gone out to a world class effort in the last minute rather than look good for the most part but shoot ourselves in the foot where it matters.
I really worry that we’re turning into Arsenal [sad]

Perhaps Wenger will come to us when Conte goes.
