Thought he spoke very well about Chelsea/Conte yesterday (Chelsea bit from about 18:30 onwards):

Conte to the board...'I want to choose my players'

The board 'that's not how we do things'

Conte 'well I will continue to whine and moan'

The board 'can't you change?'

Conte 'no, I am me, this is what I am'

Boardroom meeting...'pay the cnut off and let's get looking for another who will do as they were employed'

I suppose we don’t know what was discussed when he was appointed, that’s the thing. As I said in the post below, the club should have done their homework on Conte, they’d have known when they appointed him that he had exactly the same frustrations at Juve. In the same way he should have done his homework on the Chelsea transfer policy. Blame is shared all round here IMHO.
I think the point Nevin made best was, do the club see someone else out there who can do a better job than Conte? If so, let’s get him in ASAP and start preparing for another new era. If not, it seems mad to sack him, even after the way the League campaign went (which went how Conte himself predicted it to go!)

We're totally in the dark mate. Whatever we say is pure speculation...as you say.

Personally, I think we've known for years the board do the hiring and firing. I'd be amazed if Conte never knew the score before he signed...at the time we were all being told Conte couldn't even bring his own coaching staff in - alarm bells should be ringing for Antonio if he had any doubts. Again, we don't if CFC promised more than he actually got. All these people...owners, managers, players etc all wrapped up in the money side of the game where promises are reneged upon time and time again and not just in our board meetings at SB.

For me, his moans, his man management, his tactics, his stubborness and some of his in-game moves are enough for me to say he doesn't have too much in the locker. He's just the second Jose all over again...neither a patch on the young Jose who had flair and bravery.

He’s not covered himself in glory at times this season for sure mate, although if when he joined two years ago, you offered me a League title and an FA Cup from two Finals, I’d have snapped your hands and arms off! But he could have done more this season (even under circumstances I don’t think he should have had to work under) and he’s likely to pay the price for that.

My biggest worry is who comes in to replace him. For all his faults, he has a track record of winning things, season after season.

I think we're pretty close in our thinking, K.

I can't help but think he's another honeymoon manager. 1 or 2 years and it's showing signs of corrosion and divorce...the whispers are coming out of the camp.

It's my way or the highway with him.
