What a shame the camera wasn’t level with the line, to see if Kane’s head was offside. The decision should have been the linesman’s offside.
VAR has the ability to wrong a right - when it suits.
The man best placed is overruled by tech guys in a studio miles away who have a shit angle. That's progress they tell us.
Will ultimately ruin football.. we will lose the immediacy of the thrill of a goal being scored, dodgy challenge etc..turning into American Football.
Do we actually know what angle(s) the officials in the VAR control room saw/used?
I think we’re assuming they only saw the first angle (ie the one Sky showed at the time) but I’m pretty sure/hopeful they didn’t make their decision based on that alone
I'd assume just the one naff view...the Chelsea version tells the truth.
I’ve just been reading about it and didn’t realise the alternative version was actually from Chelsea. It all makes a bit more sense now.
It looks like the right decision was made according to Hawkeye, which is what matters, but the camera view from Sky wasn’t as good as the one Chelsea had and had the VAR officials had that one, the offside probably would have been given
Joke of a decision.
How can they use an angle like that for a VAR decision.
I hope there will be VAR at the bridge for the 2nd leg, as you'd expect us to be doing most of the attacking at home, whilst chasing a 1-0 deficit.
Hopefully the players will be fired right up for it.
