Keep up the good work fella. Been reading through all the posts as don’t get on here as much as I’d like to any more. Sarri has his faults but has to be given at least two more windows to build a team he needs.

[^] some decent posts on both sides.

I don't know if he is the right man but the only way to find out is to give him a pre season and some players that he wants in the summer. Let's see if he can identify and fix the issues before binning him off.

Assumption is what, he is buying players or someone else is buying players? If it’s the former then have a look at who built his Napoli side as it wasn’t him, his signings were pretty average so not sure I’d trust him.

I might be wrong but I don’t think Napoli really had a DoF and it was basically the President who dealt with the signing of players? Not sure how much or little Sarri had to do with transfers.

I think we need to get a proper Director of Football in and they should work with the head coach to agree on new signings, together.

I would be far more sympathetic to him if there were signs of what he's trying to do and any signs of progress - We've regressed under this bloke and however much we allow him to change the team to 'his' players, it won't mask the fact he's incapable of influencing or changing a game.

In any case, we're about to be banned for about 4 windows!

He doesn't seem to be watching what's going on. Wolves the other night stuck Boly up top and they got a draw. Would Sarri do this?

Would Guardiola?

Pretty sure he has!

Didn’t realise he’d even managed Willy Boly :-D

Kompany has definitely gone up top before... not sure if before Pep though.

My worry is even if he's given time and bucket loads of cash in the summer, that I don't think he would fix things. The fact he's never won anything gives supporters little reason to believe he can, even though we all obviously hope he will.

Our next 4 games are massive and could define our season. If we were somehow able to find a way to win the league cup final against city then it would be a good step in the right direction imo - a big boost to sarri to win some silverware.

What I thinks mad is he sticks to this 433 sarri ball no matter what the opposition. When you've got the players to do it fine. (After summer window)

But why not change it up a bit when necessary this season to improve our chances of getting a positive result (in games like city, sp*rs, arsenal away)

EG 4231 - I think this suits our current squad. Putting a kante or kovacic next to jorginho in certain games, with Barkley/Ruben able to play further forward, or moving some one like Willian through the middle and freeing up an extra space for CHO in the wide position.

He only has one way of playing, its plan A or plan A. Ultimately, I think his stubbornness this season will be his downfall, no one really gets given time by Roman.

Long way to go in the season yet though, we still have a chance in carling cup, Fa cup and Europa league.

As I keep saying, I don’t really know how you can criticise someone for doing the very thing that got them the job in the first place. Criticise the club for employing him, by all means.

We have beaten those three teams you mentioned there, this season...

I'm fine with him playing "sarri ball" 90% of the time, but going away to places like city and attempting it is brave/stupidity.

We beat city when he changed it to a false 9, a sp*rs team missing a few of their first team, an were lucky that arsenal missed some glorious chances or we'd have lost that too.

A big few months coming up for Sarri.

Conte got slated for going there not to lose and rather meekly losing 1-0, so you’re never going to please anybody.

The thing I find strange is that people slag off Sarri and Sarriball as if they are one and the same thing.
Sarri is the one asking the players to play a certain way (a way others have named ‘Sarriball’) but if Sarriball is what his Napoli side played, then that is not what we are seeing here every week.

He got slaughtered for sticking with the false 9 despite us actually looking more solid defensively with it, the Spurs team with half their first team in it has done pretty well in the meantime and we could/should have been four or five up against Arsenal before they had their strong 20 minutes or so.
We can argue ifs and buts all day long but what’s happened had happened, as I say it seems when he wins there’s always a ‘but...’ however if you were to make that argument for City the other day then we could say that we would have been alright if Alonso & Hazard hadn’t left a man free, Aguero hadn’t produced a world class effort from range, Barkley hadn’t inexplicably headed a harmless ball into his own six yard box, Kepa hadn’t let a soft, slow training shot past him and Azpi hadn’t decided to react to Sterling going past him about five seconds too late...

Don't worry, I blame them more than him!
