Thing that fks me off.

"...a tolerance that acknowledged the mess he had inherited and the quiet dignity he had demonstrated."

What fking mess? We were third in the league four points behind City and still in every competition at the time RDM got the boot!

To be honest, if we weren't out of the CL under RDM we were on our way out.

The club doesn't have a long term plan but they employ someone like Sarri who would need time to settle in. It just seems so badly run - people like Sarri, Jose, Conte, RDM etc get slated for failure and off we go again. I really thought Sarri would be given time and I'm patient enough to accept at least another season. He inherited so much that was bad - it just carries on from one manager to the next.

We were, but it wasn't like we were in free-fall. As it was, we're one of the few teams to ever go out on 10 points (for context, Spurs are in the final and got 7 in their group...).

We'd started well in the league and I was in Turin for the game that ultimately ended up getting him the sack - Nobody was calling for his head.

It's just lazy to suggest we were in a dire state, when we were closer to the leaders at that point than we were once Benitez left!

As for Sarri, to be fair I blame the board more for appointing him in the first place, it should have been clear it was never going to be a good fit for us. On paper he's not done badly, but that would ignore the detail (albeit I admit he's hardly inherited Brazil 1970 to work with either).

Not to mention, European champions. Pure Rafa revisionism. People talk about the job he did that season as though he achieved more than what Di Matteo did!

We were in a much better position at that stage than what we’re in now, especially in the context of how other clubs have come on in the meantime.

The usual unresearched drivel. No mention of the pathetic team selection in both LC & FA Cup semis. Losing to Swansea at home FFS with perfectly fit Lampard on the bench. The squad he had compared to what Sarri has had to deal with ...... not even close.

We under-achieved that season, not all down to him but those Semis and the Club World Cup Final will always stick in my throat
