Worth a punt? I'm not sure. I thought he was good at saints but looks unfit and over weight at Man U. But, knowing how JM sucks the joy out of some players he may be a good buy for someone.
Van Gaal didn’t fancy him either, and even Hodgson used to criticise him from what I remember, which is unlike him. Apparently he’s fond of the extra-curricular and he doesn’t seem like he’s got the footballing intelligence to make it at the highest level. The injury can’t have helped either.

I'd take him on. There appears to be personality problems but Chelsea are very good at having well behaved players these days.
