Yep even at the time I remember everyone saying it was a shame Bates decided to go big with Chelsea Village, hotel etc., because he saw pound signs about the commercial possibilities and forgot that, first and foremost, it’s a football stadium for football fans. Even 48k would have been fine with a proper Kop-like Shed. This is the danger when owners think too much about the brand, IMHO
