It's one hell of a success story. He's taken a team that finished 2ND a season and half before he joined and spent over 300 million over 3 seasons to finish second again.
To be fair he was burdened with so much dead wood like Sterling, Can, Coutinhio, Firminio and has had to make to-do with bargain basement signings like Allision and Van Djik.
Probably up there with Cloughie in terms of massively over achieving and really highlights what such a shit job Conte done in winning the league in his first season.
