Struggling without a decent striker I see.

Really, B?
You should know better...

You need a good striker and we don't have one. Watching Spurs today was like watching us huff and puff. They got lucky, as we do sometimes but ask them to carry on without Kane and they will blow hot and cold as we do. Poch is highly rated but he needs key players where it matters to be seen as a good coach.

I need to give Sarri the chance with a striker/forward line of his choice.

Also mate, a lot of what you said yesterday I totally get and agree with. I'm just looking at the recent past and adding a few things up with my opinion. I've seen this crop of lads seemingly down tools a few times and enough is enough for me...not the manager this time because it's time a few of the lads fell on their sword.

Martin Samuel, this morning, on Sunday Supplement, was well worth a listen.
Mentioned to Sarri, referring to Conte, that Conte changed his system, after the defeat to Arsenal, and subsequently went on a long winning run, that lead to winning the title, and Sarri said that i will not change, this is what I coach best.
Samuel said that Jorginho is not good enough in this league, as it is too quick for him. He also pointed out that as someone who is the playmaker, has created only 15 chances in nearly 2000 passes, with NO assists.
He said that Kante should not be playing in the role he is, and Hazard is wasted as a central striker.
Another thing he mentioned was Sarri, publicly slating the players, was treading on dangerous ground, as previous managers have won things before criticising the players, which generally follows with the bullet.

I think he may have points (he usually does tbf) but I'm not budging in backing Sarri. This squad is full of lazy cnuts who lack the desire required. I'm giving Sarri the chance to swing the axe and then see what he can bring to CFC. The lads deserve a coating - my first thought was it's a stab at getting them up for the game on Thursday but I don't know. If the lads have an ounce of honesty they will know Sarri has every right to have a pop at them...it's tough if they feel public humiliation like we did after yesterday and many times before :-)

Re Jorginho...I want to see Sarri's additions before writing this man off. There's plenty of change ahead but if we stick with Sarri then Jorginho will avoid the axe and be one of his key players. I want cutthroat decision making from Sarri and I expect it tbh.

The squad is full of winners, and you don’t win things by being lazy.
So that argument doesn’t stand for me.
I’d rather say some of them are not good enough to play the system he wants. Sadly, he is putting square pegs in round holes, and has been since Pochettino rumbled him.
You need pace out wide, but he continues to play Alonso and Azpilicueta as full backs. Neither have the pace or ability to play the attacking part of the position.
Why continue with something that isn’t working?
Will the club trust him further with players he supposedly needs, I doubt it. Why does he think an ageing striker, who has never played in England, will be able to score the goals we need, when he plays with a non creative, non goalscoring midfield? I just don’t see it.

I don't see how Aspi or Alonso fit in but I think as it stands Sarri sees them as his best options. That will change given time - IT HAS TO CHANGE - without sentiment towards Aspi in particular.

I see lads that can do it one day and not the next...cup mentality as I suggested earlier. It's frustrating seeing the Spurs game and then the Southampton game after that. One that hit high performance and then the low. They may be winners but I don't see title winners regarding mentality.

Re Higuain, I have no idea whether this is good or not tbh. I think it's a stop-gap to get us to the summer and shifting Morata out. I doubt very much Sarri has Higuain in mind for the long term number 1 striker. Perhaps a well-paid part-timer winding down the years topping his pension up.

I think in many areas we agree. It's who we look at to blame where we differ. I wanted Jose and Conte gone because performances and attitude were poor. They have gone but still, the problem remains where we see performance extremes. The major problem (for me now) is we're too quick to want sackings so on this occasion I want to see a new way...back the manager with money and let him bring in his key players. The board have a cup mentality too and that is where the real problem is. If it's not right at the top it won't be right at the bottom.

Winners who finished fifth last year and some who finished eleventh two years before that. Which proves the point even more... we’re not consistently finishing first and second, or even consistently finishing fourth every year, we have these wild swings which show that something is fundamentally wrong.
As for Higuain, all I hear is how we need a striker and playing without a striker is lunacy, so he tries to get one and he’s being criticised for that now because Higuain is 31? Morata’s a great age on paper but he’s proven not up to the task. We create enough chances to have won more than we have, the Spurs & Arsenal games being the two exceptions. This club’s obsession with age is doing nobody any favours.

The Conte you wanted out all season because he didn’t want to change those tactics...
The difference being that the tactics he played up until that game weren’t his, so he decided to do it his way instead, which is what every manager should be able to do. The worst thing Di Matteo ever did in 12/13 was bow to pressure to change what everyone was saying was simple & obvious because not only did it not work, he didn’t go out on his own terms and he showed how easily undermined he could be.
Samuel then went on to make some wisecrack about hipsters and lattes, which I think speaks volumes, as though anyone who dare watch a bit of football outside of 4-4-2, roast beef and ‘put it in the mixer’ is to be ridiculed, which just about sums up much of this country at the moment.
The convo they all had was identical to the ones they’ve had around that table about Guardiola and Klopp in the past...
