What do you do with what you have?
I'm trying to put myself into his shoes.
Jorginho is a big talking point so I'll start there. If I take him out and switch Kante back into his most effective role where does that leave me? Well for starters my whole plan of 'keep ball' flies out of the window. No longer will I have the element where the ball is recycled and possession kept. I will have a great destroyer but that will just hand the ball over to the opposition and force Kante into more work and invite opponents onto us more. That, in turn, will put pressure on an already unstable back line and restrict my 'play from the back' style. I'd rather have the ball than risk opponents having it. Jorginho stays put.
Hazard in the 9. I have 2 strikers - one is totally ineffective in all he does, the other is an impact sub at best. I have 3 hard working players in Eden, Willian and Pedro who are all capable of scoring goals and creating goals. Whichever way I go the goals are very hard to come by so I think I'll go with the hard workers who offer a little extra when we're not on the ball.
Alonso/Aspi...I really need to get better than these 2. I need them to be better getting forward and delivering. I need more goals from them. I'm not sure I can consider Emerson and Zappacosta...I'm not a fan of either as you can see by my reluctance to play them in the bigger matches.
CHO...the fans want him in but I have to get results or my job is on the line and a young career in tatters. Had we been going better it's easier to get him in but as it stands it's very hard to put him ahead of Willian or Pedro. One for the future, I'll ride out the waves of criticism for now. He is only 18 when all said and done.
You can all see what I've been handed to work with...you see Morata? Well, that's my main striker!!! I see Eden, Pedro and Willian as the better option to a striker and 2 of the 3 mentioned and I will continue to go with what I feel gives me more overall.
I'm Sarri, I need the board to back me in the transfer market or we're all doomed. CFC can't continue to use managers as an 'impact sub'.
