Conte got slated for going there not to lose and rather meekly losing 1-0, so you’re never going to please anybody.
The thing I find strange is that people slag off Sarri and Sarriball as if they are one and the same thing.
Sarri is the one asking the players to play a certain way (a way others have named ‘Sarriball’) but if Sarriball is what his Napoli side played, then that is not what we are seeing here every week.
He got slaughtered for sticking with the false 9 despite us actually looking more solid defensively with it, the Spurs team with half their first team in it has done pretty well in the meantime and we could/should have been four or five up against Arsenal before they had their strong 20 minutes or so.
We can argue ifs and buts all day long but what’s happened had happened, as I say it seems when he wins there’s always a ‘but...’ however if you were to make that argument for City the other day then we could say that we would have been alright if Alonso & Hazard hadn’t left a man free, Aguero hadn’t produced a world class effort from range, Barkley hadn’t inexplicably headed a harmless ball into his own six yard box, Kepa hadn’t let a soft, slow training shot past him and Azpi hadn’t decided to react to Sterling going past him about five seconds too late...
