Not exactly a rush for the 6000 tickets, uefa probably got it right with the allocation, maybe even over cooked it.
The loyalty and connection between CFC and the fans is in decline.
Yep my brother got the opportunity to buy but we didn't purchase. Too much flight, hotel hassle. Plus Mrs would not be happy as been away too much.
Same as, 2 tickets offered from outside the Chelsea fanbase but just can't be bothered anymore. Years ago this whole message board would have been going but now it's barely mentioned let alone enjoyed.
It's a number of things B. Cost and difficulty getting there are major factors, plus all of us are in a different personal situation than a decade ago with kids and wives, but you also can't ignore the general apathy towards the club at the moment from a lot of us who have been going a long time.
It'll be my 30th year of going to Chelsea next year, but never felt further detached from the club. Can't square that all on the manager, but he is one factor for me to be honest, albeit most of the blame lies higher up (yes, you Roman).
Not knocking people D...I stopped years ago so hardly positioned to do so. Still love and adore the CFC I hold dear but going to Stamford Bridge or buying into a cup final thousands of miles and pounds away...no more mate. I did look at going but even that was hassle. The crest of my supporting wave is over.
I’ve had the leave booked off work since last year in the hope that there’d be some cheaper charter deals if we got there, alas if anything it’s even more expensive
I’d have gone if it was a CL Final or I hadn’t already see us win the Wafer Cup, as I’ve only done a couple of games this season. I’ve not been going regularly since Jose’s return turned sour, for various reasons.
Though last year’s FA Cup was the first trophy we’ve won since the Charity Shield in 2000 that I wasn’t physically there to see us lift. It was a weird feeling, definitely doesn’t feel the same.
Perhaps right with the allocation, but as its inherently linked to the ridiculous location and lack of access or affordable travel, they deserve no credit.
