This is my main issue with the situation and feels very much like when FSW was here. I live in Derby and have witnessed first hand how Frank he has united the club. This is not a pitch for him to get the job, he made big mistakes on Monday so needs to learn his trade a bit more imho.
Sarri does himself no favours, he has not tried to ingratiate with the supporters and apparently dedicated this win to the Napoli fans ffs.
If the transfer ban is coming, take it now. If it isn't we will probably get 2 weeks or so to buy, the best will have gone, and we would have to pay through the nose anyway.
Reluctantly all things considered would give him another year.

I won't say I'm a Sarri fan but I'm a very big supporter of fairness.

An example, the team selection with Kovacic, Jorginho (I am a big fan) and Kante left me scratching my head. It was a final and we went with a defensive midfield...Sarri got it right because for 60 minutes of the game we bossed it...Sarri 1 UTC 0.

All in all, I think it would be VERY harsh to sack him but that's what the club do. Again, if you look at that bigger picture you will see it works if it's about pots won.

As I said last night, I'd tell Chelsea to shove it and head off to Juve if I were him - he deserves better.

Best I have seen Kovacic play for us. If Kante was carrying a knock, I'd hate to see him fully fit. I rate Jorginho too.

It could be that the like of Kovacic is getting the hang of what Sarri is asking of him? Certainly been much better of late and I've gone from wanting him gone to seeing potential in him.

Kante is an exceptional human being.

In the second half Sarri played Kante in his correct position at the centre of midfield, allowing Jorginho to play more like Cesc and Kovacic to be freed from defensive duty . Its taken Sarri until the last half of the last game to work that out

Possibly abandoned his ideals knowing it's his last game :-D

If we get a ban can we keep him?

:-D

I think he'll be ditching us tbh, if he has any sense. Then it's a case of doing what I want to happen after his departure - a Frank and JT combo. No top manager will touch us with the ban in place and the current squad minus Hazard. Mission impossible to me, this season will look like 'the good old days'.

We only bossed it after he changed it - We were getting overrun in midfield in that first half, but then Jorginho moved further forward and started linking the play a lot more.

I like Kovacic, he's a nice footballer...I just question his role in this side - There are too many 'nice' players in that midfield.

Yep, he changed it [^]

One thing he couldn't change during the season was the attitude of some players. That's either a fault on his part or a flaw in the current crop. I think the 'nice' comment is correct too.

I appreciate the change, especially as so often this season he chose not to make meaningful changes in personnel or shape when he should have.

It's a mix of the two - No doubting we've got some rotten attitudes in that group of players, but the best managers coax something out of even those types. Fault lies with both, but ultimately the gaffer is paid a fortune to motivate his players (or pick ones who are). For too long, he moaned about his players...but kept using the same group.

On the subject of nice players, said this to R1der this morning - What a world of difference between someone like Cech (visibly disgusted at having lost, taking his medal straight off and when he was being interviewed, was visibly angry and upset...albeit partly as it's his final game of course) and some of his team mates who were laughing and joking with some of ours as they went to get their medals, busy taking selfies and all that...

As Cech said the other day, during our strong years "we'd feel like a draw was a defeat" - Obviously a generational thing sadly.

Cech was a big part of what made us the best around for a while mate [^]

I may come over as a fan of Sarri when in truth I agree with a lot of what is said about him in negative terms. Like Famous and a few others, I think this current lot are flawed as a group and will continue to let managers down by only showing up when they feel like it. Sarri has recognised that and if he stays and the ban is delayed he can actually do something about it...this all depends on him being given time to weed players out. Sarri goes and the next manager could offer 'new starts' all round. In summary, the longer a manager stays the better chance he will have of finding a steady side.

Ozil couldn't be even arsed to get off the bench to console some of their youngsters.

Like UTC, because I don’t hate Sarri or his appointment, it comes across like I’m a huge fan but I won’t be donning a black armband if he leaves. He has his flaws amongst the good parts and next season could be even tougher than this one.

Allegri is a good manager and should be available; I think it might be too early for Frank but it would be exciting to have him and Morris here, if that were to happen. So there are options.

The ban is a bit of a curveball really, maybe that’ll affect the club’s decision (or even Sarri’s, if the Juve link is real) as well as any potential replacement.

Not sure I’d be wanting to be connecting with our fans if I was Sarri given the way they have behaved towards him.

F**k Sarriball and F**k off Sarri you’re ruining our club chants plus booing him when he subs injured and tired players but we still want him to say “ I’d like to thank the fans for all their support”

I can't go on what was said/sang at grounds but some of the abuse on social media was like Sarri had morphed into Rafa.

From my point of view, it was nice to see Chelsea try to own the ball. We've spent a good few years without the ball and on many occasions been outpassed by relegation fodder. I always knew it was a side in transition from one extreme to the other so I cut it/Sarri some slack in the hope that over the summer Sarri could have a say in player upgrades. In all honesty, I never saw a trophy coming so with my pot expectation low I'm delighted we add to the honours list.

I think after the abuse he got from his own supporters in the win at Cardiff, he’d have every right to not give two shits about the fans
