Why appeal the transfer ban and not sign anyone? We have a buy back clause at £40m on Ake that expires tomorrow, so get him in and if it doesn't work out, sell him on for the going rate. Play Giroud or sell him and bring in a short term attacker. Mertens would do.
I’d rather us buy nobody than make mistakes like we’ve consistently done in the past by getting third or fourth choices in, meaning we end up with the squad unnecessarily cluttered with the Emersons of this world
A decent signing would have lifted the group and given us a better chance of CL next year. Who could we miss out on in the summer if that is the case? Not heard from Bruce Buck in a while.
Sure it would have but if the right players or the deals aren’t there to be made, then best not to make a poor signing instead
