Maguire should have seen red, Willian booking, Martial elbow into Christensen's face.

Corruption, I have no other word for it.

This is not a referee missing it...its slow-motion replays denying anything happened in the VAR room. We all saw what was happening...with VAR they can't say 'the officials never saw it'.

Both the ref and the VAR official, from Manchester. I’d say they’re probably likely more to be incompetent than bent, but why allow the argument to be had by putting them on the game? It’s unnecessary.

Sorry mate that was as bent as a coiled spring.

VAR is the enemy of football and I question the integrity of the game.

Reminded me... in a very small way...of the Barca CL semi. Feel disgusted by it today. Losing is one thing....

I can take defeat (ish) but when I feel cheated it's a whole different ball game. My anger isn't with Frank selecting the wrong team or Batshuyi being second rate (I think he tries his socks off and loves the club) etc...it's that I feel there is some sort of agenda to keep the season going as a TV drama. How is that kick in the bollox not seen in normal speed and slo-mo? How is Aspi being pushed being overlooked? How is Willian being carded as a cheat for being fouled? It's one thing a referee (cheat) having an absolute nightmare v Barca but the man sat in the darkroom surrounded by technology on this occasion has plenty to answer for.

It's nothing short of criminal what happened last night.

Had a Palace mate home to Liverpool saying pretty much the same. Perry Groves on Talksport was an even bigger tool than normal last night, if that is possible.

VAR will only be as good as the officials in charge of it, and the laws of the game they’re asked to follow. The current crop of officials in this country are abysmal, and there are too many laws which need sorting out.
Add to that, the Premier League themselves making a hash of implementing it, and it all adds up to disaster. Generally speaking, I think VAR can be a good thing, if done correctly. I believe we’d have had one or two more European Cups in the trophy cabinet had it been around in 2005 & 2009. But I came away from last night’s game feeling extremely deflated. I can fully understand why people are so against it when it’s used like it was last night
