A bit harsh mate people handle grief in different ways. When I lost my mother I bottled it all up I was in bits but couldn't talk about it ended up falling out and biting people's heads off for no reason. My wife sat me down and told me how I was behaving. Went to see a grief councillor and it sorted me out. So each to their own I say.

It's ok with people who are a close relative or friend but as you say each to their own

Its the modern day equivalent of the wake. I anybody who is from a big family circle will know how conforting it can be in the hours of grief to rely on family and friends to come round and cheer you up by simply acknowledging your pain.

This is just a further extension of that with internet acquaintances replacing real life ones.......if it has the desired effect of comforting those that need it I really can't see how anyone can have a problem with it.
