I take it you’ve not actually read any of his responses and comments since, because he has said he can obviously see how it’s wrong if you’re looking at it with different eyes but that wasn’t the angle he was looking at it from when he posted it, I don’t really see why that’s so hard to understand and accept.

I haven’t listened to him for years but people have have pointed out that for years he has had regular items on his show about chimps dressed as humans, particularly posh looking ones. He doesn’t have regular items about how he thinks black people look like monkeys. He also has regular pops at the Royal Family, upper classes and the media circus that surrounds them. Is it that hard to give him the benefit of the doubt as to where he (mistakenly) saw the comedy lie in this Tweet? Regardless of how unfunny and ill-judged it actually was.
